About the Artist

Santa Clarita resident Lisa Barr discovered art at an early age.  Growing up in a rural community in West Virginia and surrounded by nature were her inspirations in wanting to capture that beauty in the form of art.  “Each outdoor adventure is an opportunity to discover something new.  Even in places you may have visited many times is a new perspective to be found.  Nature changes quickly, so you have to be ready to find that inspiration at any given moment”, says Barr.

Lisa paints primarily in oils.  Her work has been displayed locally at the Gallery of the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association, Canyon Theatre Guild, Tournament Players Club and the Westfield Valencia Town Center Mall.  She has been a participant in the City of Santa Clarita’s Art2Go program, where residents could purchase small original artworks from vending machines and also the Single Mother’s Outreach Empowering Hearts event.

Lisa is an active member of the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association, holding various positions within the organization.  She lives in Canyon Country with her husband, David.
